【摘要】:Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthepurityofmethyltert-butylether(MTBE)bygaschromatography.ItalsoprovidesaproceduretomeasureimpuritiesinMTBEsuchasCtoColefins,methyl,isopropylandtert-butylalcohols,methylsec-butylandmethyltert-amylethers,acetone,andmethylethylketone.Impuritiesaredeterminedtoaminimumconcentrationof0.02mass%.ThistestmethodisnotapplicabletothedeterminationofMTBEingasoline.WatercannotbedeterminedbythistestmethodandmustbemeasuredbyaproceduresuchasTestMethodD1364andtheresultusedtonormalizethechromatographicvalues.AmajorityoftheimpuritiesinMTBEisresolvedbythetestmethod,however,someco-elutionisencountered.Thistestmethodisinappropriateforimpuritiesthatboilattemperatureshigherthan180?Corforimpuritiesthatcausepoorornoresponseinaflameionizationdetector,suchaswater.ThevaluesstatedinSI(metric)unitsofmeasurementarepreferredandusedthroughoutthestandard.Alternateunits,incommonusage,arealsoprovidedtoimproveclarityandaidtheuserofthistestmethod.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoconsultandestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
